Maybe That’s why she’s found herself spending time with Sawyer’s cousin, Beau, while he’s away for the summer camping with his family. Beau is nothing like her perfect boyfriend. Protocol pressures her to tell their 1860 hosts that he is her brother and when Casey finds she has a handsome, wealthy (and unwanted) suitor, something changes in Nate. Are those romantic sparks or is it just “brotherly” protectiveness?

When they return to the present, things go back to the way they were before: Casey parked on the bottom of the rung of the social ladder and Nate perched high on the very the top. Except this time her heart is broken. Plus, her best friend is mad, her parents are split up, and her younger brother gets escorted home by the police. Which of course, she does.

12. A Gift of Two Silver Pistols - Nan Coleman
A Gift Of Two Silver Pistols1781, right before the Battle of Yorktown, British General Cornwallis sends his second in command, the evil Banastre Tarleton, to Charlottesville, Virginia to kidnap senator and future president Thomas Jefferson in hopes of hanging him and ending the war in order to keep America under the jurisdiction of England. Unbeknownst to the British, however, Jefferson is dining with Patrick Henry and Benjamin Harrison at his Monticello home this night. A chance encounter with the Tarleton and his troops leads Jack Jouett to jump on his horse Sallie in the middle of the night, riding over forty miles on Indian trails through dense forest and across a river to reach Monticello before dawn and warn Jefferson in time for him to make his escape.

In 2011, Ainsley Grant is visiting her grandfather not far from Charlottesville and once again is listening to the exploits of her distant relative, Jack Jouett. Intrigued, she decides to see his path through the woods and across the river—albeit at three in the morning, when Jack rode through. Shadows move and contort in the creepy night, around the shells of long-forgotten buildings and strangely shaped trees. 14. The Fate of Destiny - Danielle Bourdon
The Fate of Destiny (Fates)
Up until three days before her eighteenth birthday, Farris Landry's life fit neatly into three categories: consuming, troublesome and downright tricky.

Consuming because of the unnatural passion (obsession) she had for writing 'stories'.

Troublesome for the mother who descended into the realm of the insane right before her eyes.

Tricky when she found herself on her own, forced to carve out an existence by the skin of her teeth.

Farris quickly discovers that consuming-troubling-tricky is nothing compared to the Chaos that ensues after a visit to her grandmother. Determined to go on with her life, Farris finds out the hard way that sometimes, Fate has other ideas. In the blink of an eye, her life gets turned upside down: a tornado rips through town, her loft catches fire, and an explosion decimates her workplace.

A stranger, Emerson Ferrera, inserts himself into the violence, becoming guardian and protector. Farris begins to suspect her grandmother's warning of impending death might more serious than she thought.

Tragedy and betrayal follow, throwing Farris into a tailspin. Will she be able to trust the stranger she's become close to, or will his deception tear them apart?

Find out if Farris' writing obsession is just a unique gift or a clue to a talent with a more supernatural twist in The Fate of Destiny, book #1 in the Fates series.

The problem is Fane is not the only wolf in Coldspring, Texas. Just as Fane and Jacque are getting to know each other, another wolf steps out to try and claim Jacque as his mate. Fane will now have to fight for the right to complete the mating bond, something that is his right by birth but is being denied him by a crazed Alpha. But with Alex seeming to hate her and secrets popping up everywhere, Gemma's life is turning into a chaotic mess. Things that shouldn't be real suddenly seem to exist. And as her world falls apart, figuring out the secrets of her past becomes a matter of life and death.

18.  Six Moon Summer - SM Reine
Six Moon Summer (Seasons of the Moon, #1)Rylie's been bitten.

She's changing.

And now she has three months to find a cure before becoming a werewolf... forever.

Rylie Gresham hates everything about summer camp: the food, the fresh air, the dumb activities, and the other girls in her cabin. But the worst part is probably being bitten by a werewolf. Being a teenager is hard enough, but now she's craving raw flesh and struggles with uncontrollable anger. If she doesn't figure out a way to stop the transformation, then at the end of summer, her life is worse than over. She'll be a monster.

19. All Hallows Moon - SM Reine
All Hallows Moon (Seasons of the Moon, #2)  Rylie survived becoming a werewolf at great cost. She moves to her aunt’s ranch in the hopes she can enroll in a new high school and quietly continue her life... with a few distinct changes. She transforms into a beast every new and full moon and struggles to control her murderous urges.

Without many werewolves left, it’s hard to stay in hiding. A family of hunters -- Eleanor, Abel, and Seth -- recognize the signs and follow Rylie to her new home. They want to stop her before she murders someone, and the only way to do it is with a silver bullet. Seth soon realizes the werewolf is Rylie, the one monster he failed to kill. Worse yet, he’s still in love with her.

Torn between family and love, Rylie struggles to reconcile her feelings and control the wolf within while Seth fights to do what’s right. But what is right-- obeying
desire or duty?

20. Long Night Moon - SM Reine
Long Night Moon (Seasons of the Moon, #3)  Something is killing innocent people around Rylie Gresham's town. The police think it's a wild animal, but she has other suspicions. There are new kids at school, and they have a lot in common with her: gold eyes, super strength, and a habit of turning furry. It seems Rylie's not the only werewolf around anymore.

It's up to Rylie and her werewolf-hunting boyfriend, Seth, to stop the killings. But saving lives doesn't come naturally to a monster, and territory battles could risk the life of her sickly aunt--not to mention her own. Rylie has no choice but to stand her ground, protect her home, and stop the murderers before anyone else gets hurt.

21. The Battle Hymn Blues - Baker Lawley
The Battle Hymn BluesStoney Nix can play anything, from Beethoven to the Blues, on his old rattletrap piano. It’s just a gift, and a good one. Music is his ticket out of Pinewood, Alabama, his ironic, dying hometown, where they reenact the Civil War but cancel marching band because it’s too small. Then Sadie Green, the hilarious and beautiful new girl (and Stoney’s major crush), convinces him to fight in the fake Civil War battle. What happens there will haunt Stoney forever—and only through voices of the past, struggle, friendship, and his music, will Stoney find himself.

A young adult-paranormal-gothic-comedy-romance, The Battle Hymn Blues is a story filled with ghosts and pranks, music and mystery. It’s a love song to the blues we all share, how the past and the future and happiness have the strangest ways of finding you.

22. Nine Lives - Beth Balmanno
Nine Lives  Nick Ziegler has a problem. He keeps almost dying. What's worse, a mysterious black cat named Mike keeps saving him. Not cool when you're eleven years old and just trying to enjoy the start of summer. But no matter where he goes—the lake, a tree in a neighbor's yard or just walking down the road—he finds himself staring death squarely in the face. Each time, though, the cat appears and somehow manages to keep him alive. Nick can't figure out who the cat belongs to or why he keeps showing up and as more people begin to take notice of his newfound protector—particularly his worried mother and his obnoxious older brother—he is determined to find out exactly what is going on. As his friends begin to back away and make fun of him, Nick finds an ally in Emma, his former nemesis. When his mother delivers some devastating news, he and Emma begin to put the pieces together and they come to the realization that Mike may have a far bigger place in Nick's life than either of them could have ever imagined.

23. The Annihilation of Foreverland - Toni Bertauski

And trust he’s not insane. Danny Boy, the new arrival, meets Reed’s dream girl inside Foreverland. She’s stuck in the fantasy land that no kid can resist. Where every heart’s desire is satisfied. 24. Deep Green: Colour Me Jealous - Melody Carlson
Deep Green: Color Me Jealous (TrueColors, #2)Jordan Ferguson and Shawna Frye became good friends when Jordan made cheerleader. But when Timothy suddenly dumps Shawna to start seeing Jordan, rumors fly.
