Books I'd Love to Find Underneath the Christmas Tree!

It's less than a week until Christmas and I'm hopelessly unprepared, but you know what? I'm kind of okay with that. For me, as a Christian, Jesus is the main focus and I really want to keep that in mind this year. In previous years, I've gotten so caught up in all the buying presents/the food/seeing people...but this year I've really just wanted to focus on Him and not the more “commercialised” side of Christmas. My family doesn't really do lots of presents or that for Christmas, but we do get each other smaller gifts and I generally get books as a gift WHICH IS WONDERFUL!

There are a few books I'd love to find underneath the tree this year, as I've been wanting to read these books forever! (Hint, hint, if my parents are reading this).

Strange the Dreamer (Strange the Dreamer, #1)

Oh, look, a Laini Taylor book is at the top. No surprise there. I've been wanting to read this book since first reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone 3 years ago (nah, I can't see into the future but I KNEW I wanted every single Laini Taylor book after finishing that one!). I've heard amazing things about Laini's latest book. I'm dying to read it.
This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity, #1)Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity, #2)

After reading ADSOM a few months ago, Schwab immediately earned herself a spot on my favourite authors list. I adore the way she writes; the spectrum of morality her characters are comprised of; the dialogue and the world building and EVERYTHING IS PERFECTION, BASICALLY.
A Darker Shade of Magic (Shades of Magic, #1)A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2)A Conjuring of Light (Shades of Magic #3)

I read A Darker Shade of Magic this summer and IT WAS SO AMAZING I LOVED IT SO MUCH ASDFGHJ. I really want to read the other two books because I neeeed to know what happens next. They're going to be brilliant and heartbreaking AND I'M SO HERE FOR IT.
Lord of Shadows (The Dark Artifices, #2)

I'M SO BEHIND ON CASSIE CLARE'S BOOKS. I have 4 unread books of hers on my shelf (whatcha playin' at, Kyra?) and hopefully I'll get to them next year! My best friend has pretty much given up hope of me ever reading City of Heavenly Fire. BUT I WILL. SOON.
A Crown of Wishes (The Star-Touched Queen, #2)

After reading The Star-Touched Queen this autumn, I NEED the sequel. Although the pacing was quite slow and the plot lacking, the world has SO much potential and the writing was amazing. Holy schnitzels, the writing was absolutely incredible. She writes beautifully. I've heard the 2nd book is AMAZING and a lot happens. So it's going to be perfection, basically.
    Never Say Die (Alex Rider)

ALEX RIDER ALEX RIDER ALEX RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIDER (!!!).
    That is all.
Not really, but SERIOUSLY. I love Alex Rider. The summer I was sixteen I marathoned the Alex Rider series (except Russian Roulette which I didn't even know was a full-length Alex Rider novel until this weekend??) WAS INCREDIBLE. I absolutely loved it! I NEEDED the latest instalment, like, yesterday.
Before She Ignites (Fallen Isles Trilogy #1)

ANXIETY AND DRAGONS! YAY! Not yay for the anxiety but yay for mental health rep in YA fantasy! IT'S ABOUT TIME. Also: dragons. Yes.
    An Enchantment of Ravens

PRETTY COVER, isn't it a pretty cover?! But never mind the cover, let's talk about the faeries in it! I love faery books. They're fabulous.
    Words in Deep Blue

I've seen so many amazing reviews about this book, and I'm 95% certain I'm going to love it. Apparently it's got characters you root for, a cute relationship and a romance revolving around bookshops or something?? IT SOUNDS WONDERFUL.
    Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)

I read the first book years ago and I LOVED it! I've been meaning to read the rest of the series but South Africa didn't have copies of them anywhere. And now, in England, my library actually has them BUT I absolutely love the way Tahereh Mafi writes, so I'd love my own copy to tab all my favourite quotes!

What books would you love to find underneath your Christmas tree? Have you read any of these? Did you enjoy them?
