2015 Reading Challenges I'll be Participating in and which Books I Plan on Reading for them

Ahhh it's nearly the start of the new year! Which means a whole extra 365 days to read more books, write more posts, make more friends and do new things. Yay! It's also that time of the year to decide what reading challenges we're going to participate in next year, which I also think is quite exciting.

I will definitely be participating in this! The amount of Netgalley and Edelweiss books I have to review is ridiculous and I'm hoping that this year will be the year where I finally read some of them!

I'm aiming for the level bronze, where I'm hoping to read 10 books. I'd like to aim for higher, but I have hectic exams next year and I'm considering doing an extra science, so I might not have that much time to read. THIS SADDENS ME PEOPLE.

If you would like to join this challenge, you can sign up here
Naturally I'll be participating in this. I'll probably aim for 50 books, but I hope I'll be able to read more! *crosses fingers*

2015TBR

My TBR pile is, like I said, alarmingly big and I'm hoping that this challenge will help me cut down the amount of books on my TBR pile! I'll be aiming for A Friendly Hug (11-20). If you would like to participate, you can sign up here.

Like I said, I don't generally stick to the lists but they're fun to make, so the listing of the books I hope to read next shall now commence.

*Edit
I'll also be participating Book Blogger Organization Challenge.

This isn't a reading challenge but it is a blogging planning kind of challenge. It's set over the course of 6 months and each month focuses on planning and working on a different thing. For an instance, the first month is working on setting reading challenges and resolutions, the second month focuses on blog maintenance and so on. It looks like a FANTASTIC challenge and if you're participating, let me know so we can cheer each other on! If you would like to sign up, you can do so here.

Books for the NG/EW Challenge:
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)The Dagger in the Desk (Lockwood & Co., #1.5)Splintered (Splintered, #1)The Here and NowThe Rain (The Rain, #1)Colonial MadnessPromposalThe Great UnexpectedThrough the SkylightThe Spindlers

1. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. I actually got a physical copy of this book to review but I gave it away to my friend which I completely regret. BUT, I also have a review copy on my Kindle to read and so many people have been raving about this series so I'm excited to finally start reading it!

2. The Dagger in the Desk by Jonathan Stroud. I wrongly assumed this was the third book but I think it may be a novella as it's labelled as book 1.5. Nevertheless, I'm really excited to read it as I'm a devout fan of the Lockwood & Co books!

3. Splintered by A.G. Howard. I've been hearing fantastic things about this trilogy from Cait from Paper Fury and I'm excited to read it as I freaking adore retellings.

4. The Here and Now by Ann Brashares. I was previously excited to read this book but then the negative reviews came pouring in and now I'm not so sure...but I'm still interested to see if I'll think of it differently.

5. The Rain by Virginia Bergin. I was also extremely excited to read this book but then there were also quite a lot of negative reviews but I seriously hope I love it because the premise is so good.

6. Colonial Madness by Jo Whittermore. I LOVE middle-grades and this book looks SO ADORABLE. I think I'm going to really enjoy it!

7. Promposal by Rhonda Helms. I love contemporaries, it's my favourite genre besides fantasy, so I'm really looking forward to reading this!

8. The Great Unexpected by Sharon Creech. Another middle-grade that has been on my TBR pile ever, this looks really cute and heart-warming and unique.

9. Through the Skylight by Ian Baucom. This seems like an interesting middle-grade/fantasy story that deals with some tough topics. Not a lot of my book blogging friends have read it so it will be interesting to see if I enjoy it.

10. The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver. I've heard amazing things about Lauren's books and this looks like a wonderful middle-grade read, so I'm looking forward to reading it!

Books for the 2015 TBR Pile Reading Challenge:
Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2)Cress (The Lunar Chronicles, #3)Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2)The Iron Trial (Magisterium, #1)The HostAmy and Matthew: A Love StoryMystic City (Mystic City, #1)The FearlessThe Child's ElephantThe Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1)

1 and 2. Scarlet and Cress by Marissa Meyer. I loved Cinder so I'm really looking forward to continuing with the series.

3. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor. I quite enjoyed the first book and I've been in the mood for a fantasy so I'm quite excited to continue with the trilogy.

4. The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. I've heard such good things about Holly Black's books and I love Cassandra Clare's books so I'm looking forward to reading this.

5. The Host by Stephenie Meyer. I've had this book on my TBR pile for awhile but I'm trying to read more sci-books and I think this book would be a good contender.

6. Amy & Matthew by Cammie McGovern. I was really looking forward to this book but a lot of people have said that Amy doesn't respect other peoples' illnesses and thinks mainly about herself, and I really dislike it when people are so inconsiderate. So, we'll see.

7. Mystic City by Theo Lawrence. THIS COVER. It's so pretty. And the story sounds really good! I'm looking forward to reading this, yesss.

8. The Fearless by Emma Pass. A kind of zombie book? I've never actually read a YA zombie book, so it'll be interesting to see whether or not I enjoy this!

9. The Child's Elephant by Rachel Campbell-Johnson. This looks like quite a heart-wrenching but inspiring story and I have feeling that I'll probably cry and flail. Probably.

10, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. After reading about Cait's (from Paper Fury, yes, she is extremely good at persuading me to read her favourite books) incessant fangirling about Maggie Stiefvater/Holly Black it is now my mission to read their books and so I shall. BE PROUD, CAIT, BE PROUD.
